Privacy policy
1. About LAYN and this policy
We are LAYN Couture Tailoring ("LAYN", "we", "us"), a fashion house registered in the Kingdom of Bahrain under commercial registration 55896-4, Manama. We are the data controller for laynbh.com, which means we decide how your personal data is used, and we are committed to protecting your privacy. We follow the Bahrain Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 30 of 2018).
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use laynbh.com or contact us, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your rights. Our site is not intended for children. If you have any question about this policy, message us on WhatsApp (+973 3882 8338) or email [email protected]. To exercise your rights, see section 10.
2. Other websites
Our site links to a few outside services, such as Instagram, WhatsApp and our payment provider. This policy does not apply to those services; each has its own privacy policy, so please read it before you give them any personal data.
3. What we collect, and how
Information you give us: when you create an account, place an order, ask for a piece to be made for you, join our news list, or contact us by WhatsApp, email, Instagram or the site. Depending on what you do, this includes your name, phone number, email address, delivery address, the pieces you buy, your size and height when a piece is made for you, your messages to us, and your language and currency choices. Card details are entered on our payment provider's secure page; we do not receive or hold them.
Information from other services: if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that account, according to your settings there. Our payment provider tells us whether a payment succeeded. The courier tells us the delivery status of your parcel.
Information our systems record: when you visit the site, we record basic technical information such as the pages you visit, your device and browser type, your approximate location from your IP address, and error reports. We also use a small number of cookies and browser storage; see section 7.
4. What we use it for
To make and deliver your order, using your name, address, phone number, order details and your measurements. The legal basis is the contract between us.
To take your payment through our payment provider. The legal basis is the contract between us.
To run your account and answer your questions on WhatsApp, email or the site, including telling you about changes to our terms or asking how your experience was. The legal basis is the contract between us and our legitimate interest in looking after our customers.
To send you news about new collections and offers by WhatsApp or email after you have ordered or joined our list. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in telling customers about similar pieces, or your consent where you joined the list; you can stop at any time (section 5).
To keep the site working, safe and improving, using technical and usage information. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the site.
To prevent fraud and protect our customers and our business, and to meet our legal duties, for example keeping order records for accounting. The legal basis is our legitimate interest and our legal obligations.
We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal effects on you, and we do not sell it.
5. News and offers
After you order, or if you join our list, we may send you news about new collections and offers by WhatsApp or email. To stop, reply "stop" on WhatsApp, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or message us, and we will stop straight away. You will still receive messages about your orders and any changes to our terms.
6. Who we share it with
We share your data only with the companies that help us serve you, and each receives only what it needs for its task:
• Delivery: our own driver or a delivery company inside Bahrain, and a courier for parcels to the Gulf, receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your parcel.
• Payment: Tap Payments processes your card, BenefitPay, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments. They receive the details needed to take the payment and check it for fraud, under their own privacy policies.
• Sign-in: Google and Apple, if you choose to sign in with them.
• Messages and hosting: Resend sends our emails; Cloudflare hosts the site, stores our data and provides basic, privacy-friendly visit statistics; WhatsApp (Meta) carries our WhatsApp messages.
Some of these companies are based outside Bahrain, including in the United States and Europe; they handle your data under their own privacy policies and safeguards. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it. If LAYN is ever sold or transferred to another owner, your data may pass to the new owner under this same policy. We never sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
7. Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use only what the site needs to work: cookies and browser storage that keep you signed in, remember your language, currency, bag and wishlist, and help protect the site from misuse. We also use Cloudflare's privacy-friendly visit counter, which does not follow you across other websites. We also count visits ourselves without cookies: each visit becomes a scrambled code that changes every day, so we see how many people visited and which pages, but never who you are. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser settings; the site will still work, but you will need to sign in again and your bag may be emptied.
8. Security
Keeping your data safe matters to us. The site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Passwords are stored in a scrambled form that cannot be read back, and you can also sign in with Google or Apple instead. Card details never touch our systems: they go directly to our payment provider, and we do not keep the security code or full card number. Access to customer data is limited to Amina and the people who need it to serve you, and our data is backed up regularly. Please keep your sign-in private and tell us at once if you think it has been misused. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and information you send us outside the site, such as on WhatsApp or Instagram, travels under those services' own protections.
9. How long we keep it
Order records, including your name, address and what you bought, are kept for 5 years for accounting and legal purposes. Your account, and the size and height you gave us, stay until you ask us to delete them, so your next order is easier. Contact details used for news and offers are kept until you unsubscribe. Messages you send us are kept for as long as we may need them to answer a question or a claim about your order. After that, data is deleted or kept only in a form that no longer identifies you.
10. Your rights
You have the right to ask us: to tell you whether we hold data about you and to give you a copy of it (access); to correct data that is wrong (correction); to delete your data where we no longer need it, where you withdraw consent, or where you object to our use of it (erasure); to limit what we do with it while a request is being checked (restriction); to receive the data you gave us in a common file format (portability); and to object to our use of your data for news and offers at any time, which we will always honour.
To exercise any of these rights, message us on WhatsApp (+973 3882 8338) or email [email protected]. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We answer within 15 working days. We may keep some data where the law requires it, for example order records for accounting, and we will tell you if that is the case.
11. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, message us first and we will do our best to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Personal Data Protection Authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
12. Children
Our site and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe a child has given us data, tell us and we will delete it.
13. The LAYN iPhone app
The LAYN app uses the same account, orders and details as laynbh.com, and this policy covers it too. The app does not track you across other apps or websites and shows no advertising. Your bag and saved pieces stay on your phone. If you allow notifications, your phone gives us a notification address that we use only to tell you about your orders and new pieces. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Account, Settings, Delete my account): your details, addresses and sign-in methods are removed at once, and paid orders are kept only as invoices, as the law requires.
14. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and, where the change matters, tell you by WhatsApp or email. Last updated 13 September 2026.
